Welcome to the Andover Triathlon Club's web site.
Triathlon has been described as being today's 'lifestyle' sport. Most of us have done some swimming, cycling or running, either as children or as forms of sport or exercise. Triathlon as a sport has an image of super-fit athletes competing in grueling endurance events that seem well beyond the capabilities of mere mortals. In fact, the majority of those who take part in triathlon do so because they want to lead an active lifestyle and see triathlon as an ideal fitness challenge.
Andover Triathlon Club wants to encourage people to take up this particular challenge, whilst providing support and coaching for its members.

The Club runs training and coached sessions in all 3 main disciplines and with sessions suitable for all abilities. Our members include some nauseatingly fit types (though they're quite nice with it) and some real beginners (such as those who could hardly swim a length of the pool when they started the coached swimming sessions and 6 months later can do 60 lengths without dying!)
We also organise ad hoc training or advice sessions such as lectures in sports nutrition; coaching to improve core stability and advice on everything from bike maintenance to transition.
